SmarterStats software getting betterAdd to Sep. 1, 2008 On Friday, IT-management software developer SmarterTools has released SmarterStats 4.x, the latest version of its analytics software. The new tool provides Web site traffic statistics, data mining, geographic mapping, spider and bot detection, along with a Web interface with Silverlight dynamic charting. According to the company, SmarterStats 4.x can differentiate between automated Spider and Bot traffic from actual user visits. The feature is unavailable from conventional script-based services including Google Analytics, giving customers a realistic view of site popularity especially important to Web marketing and SEO. SmarterTools CEO Tim Uzzanti said "SmarterStats is the perfect application to cost-effectively deliver relevant, accurate, and detailed Website reports." He added "today, site owners, businesses and webmasters need statistics that they can simply trust without exposing their data to unrelated third parties." He added "SmarterStats provides the solution without requiring people to spend more time and money re-coding their sites like competing script-based solutions." SmarterTools also boasts scalability, providing statistics for up to 30,000 sites on both Windows or Linux servers. Like the rest of the SmarterTools product suite, SmarterStats now includes a "Webtop" interface with AJAX controls. It also includes dynamic charting using Microsoft's Silverlight technology, giving it a "truly advanced and intuitive interface experience," according to the company.
