Parallels catalog reaches 100 SaaS applicationsAdd to February 25, 2008 Web hosting automation software provider Parallels announces that service providers that use virtualization and automation software can now access more than one-hundred SaaS (Software as a Service) applications certified according to the Application Packaging Standard (APS). Overall, end-user customers can select from a range of SaaS solutions, which can be delivered by service providers and at a low cost. The APS Standard is a packaging format that enables service providers to easily deliver hosted applications developed by independent software vendors. These APS-certified applications can be easily integrated into hosting platforms that conform to the standard. Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Parallels said "with our Parallels Open Platform and the APS Standard, we are providing a unified, open technology platform that is helping software vendors and service providers take advantage of SaaS to expand their businesses and grow revenues." "The certification of more than 100 applications to the APS standard is a significant milestone that shows momentum for the standard as well as SaaS," added Beloussov. On Feb. 15, Parallels announced it released a templates catalog for Parallels Virtuozzo Containers. SaaS applications certified to the APS Standard can be easily downloaded from the APS Application Catalog at http://apsstandard.com/app. The applications catalog consists of a wide range of applications, including back office, collaboration, infrastructure, personal applications and Web-related apps.
