According to industry analyst IDC, server virtualization provider SW-Soft's operating system
Virtuozzo is growing the fastest in the market for server virtualization software.
Overall, IDC says worldwide industry sales of virtualization software increased by 67
percent from 2004 to 2005, reaching $560 million in revenues.
Virtuozzo sales increased by 98 percent during that same period.
IDC expects the virtualization market to grow to $15 billion worldwide in three years from now.
The proliferation of servers in global data centers has resulted in increased complexity and costs.
Virtualization helps to combat this problem by significantly lowering the need for adding physical
servers and associated capital, power, software and management costs.
"Our sales momentum is a reflection of our highly-efficient operating system-level Virtuozzo technology,
along with its management capabilities for physical servers and virtual environments," says Serguei
Beloussov, CEO of SWsoft.
"We will enhance those with management and automation tools that will allow customers to further
maximize the benefits gained through virtualized resources" added Beloussov.
