Yesterday, Web hosting provider Interland announced that, as part
of its strategic restructuring, it had named Jeffrey Stibel as CEO,
replacing the outgoing Joel Kocher, who has led the company for the past
five years.
The appointment takes effect on August 11, 2005. Kocher will remain on the Atlanta-based company’s board of directors and Stibel is expected to join in the near future.
"I am confident that under Jeff's leadership we will be able to strengthen the value of our company and grow the business," says Kocher. "The decision to transition was my choice. It is the right time for a CEO change and Jeff is well suited to lead in the next phase of our growth as a company."

Prior to joining Interland, Stibel was senior vice president of United Online's Web services division. At United, Stibel was responsible for Web hosting, email, online digital photos, search and domain registration across several different brands. Stibel was CEO of Simpli.com before joining United Online.
"I am excited about the opportunity to grow Interland into a world-class online marketing services company," says Stibel. "I look forward to working with the company's extremely talented employees. Having built and grown several companies in the past, I feel confident that my skill set and ability to execute, along with this great team, is a winning combination for Interland."
Interland also announced the addition of three new board members, including a new chairman. Seymour Holtzman is the new chairman. Efrem Gerszberg and Alex Kazerani are the new directors.
