Ten Worldcom directors agree on settlement

January 7, 2005

Ten former directors of Web hosting provider Worldcom have agreed to pay a total of $54 million to settle parts of a class-action securities lawsuit that stems from the company's accounting scandal, widely reputed to be the largest in history, according to various reports.

The ten directors will reportedly be required to pay $18 million out of their own pockets, with liability insurance companies picking up the remaining $36 million.
