Boston Datacenters merges with Archieboy

February 16, 2005

Data center operator Boston Datacenters has merged with Archieboy Holdings, LLC to create an Internet hosting company.

Archieboy president Robert S. Bennett will assume the position of CEO of Boston Datacenters, while Bill Southworth will serve as chairman, and Vincent Bono will continue as president and COO.

Bennett started Adgrafix before selling the company to Allegiance Telecom. In September 2001 he founded Archieboy, which initially offered Internet-based support until eventually making the switch to hosting in 2002.

Currently, Archieboy's hosting division consists of over 25 hosting companies and over 800 shared and dedicated hosting customers. As part of the merger, a dozen Archieboy staff members will join Boston Datacenters, expanding the company’s total staff to approximately 30.

"I had my eye on this data center since my first tour back in 1998," says Bennett.

"I have seen many data centers but nothing impressed me more than this facility. By running the data center, not only can we offer our customers better support and pricing, but we can also provide New England businesses with some of the best hosting facilities available today."
