Host providers will soon offer IPv6 connectivity
Some hosting providers are starting to announce that they will soon offer IPv6 connectivity to their clients. One such provider is Verio. On Nov. 28, the company announced that it will offer Internet Protocol version 6 connectivity for customers and solution partners using Verio's VPS (virtual private server) and managed private server hosting solutions.

A Chicago-based data center facility belonging to Web host provider C.I. Host was allegedly burglarized, leaving customers shocked to discover that it was the fourth such break-in at the facility in the last few years.

Dell plans to acquire EqualLogic for $1.4 billion
Today, Dell has announced that it is planning to acquire EqualLogic in a $1.4 billion all-cash deal. Dell is seeking to broaden its reach by further bolstering its data storage operations. EqualLogic develops SAN (storage area network) systems based on the iSCSI standard. The new standard is designed to operate on a company's existing Ethernet network, meaning businesses could significantly reduce costs by forgoing the need to install fiber networks.
