New law says Web hosts not liable
The California Supreme Court handed down a decision last week that states Web hosting companies and publishers are not liable for the defamatory statements made by site contributors. It also said that plaintiffs must look to the original source of the statements to seek recovery, according to various reports.

.EU domain registration fees cut by 50 percent
EURid, the domain registry responsible for managing .EU domain names, announced last week it is cutting its annual registration charge from 10 Euro to 5 Euro beginning Jan. 1, 2007. As a result, the new domain registration fee is $6.41 at today's exchange rate, slightly higher than the current $6.25 wholesale price of .com domains.
