Parallels to offer APS program
Web hosting software provider Parallels announced yesterday that it will be offering service
providers an APS (Application Packaging Standard) certification service, which will be administered by
the independent firm Tier 1 Research. The certification rewards SaaS (software as a service) application
providers with either an APS Gold or APS Silver certification.

20 percent of British users are dissatisfied with their hosting providers
A new study conducted by technology blog IT Pro reveals that about 20 percent of businesses in the United
Kingdom are increasingly dissatisfied with their current Web hosting providers, leading to offline websites
and upset customers. The survey asked British companies about their Website and hosting experience. Companies
said that their sites are among a company's most important assets by providing an informational resource for
potential and current customers, a great marketing tool for the business and an additional retail outlet.

Network Solutions finally sued for its front-running tactics
Domain registrar Network Solutions has been sued on Feb. 25
for its unethical and now very controversial practice of front-running domain names. Additionally, ICANN
(the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) was named as well in the lawsuit since its
policies facilitated the scheme.

SoftLayer launches its new API
Hosting software developer SoftLayer announces today that it has launched its API
(Application Protocol Interface) 3.0, an enhanced version of the industry's first open source API. Available for free to all
SoftLayer customers, its new API 3.0 provides system-to-system access to the more than 100 backend functions
also available through SoftLayer’s customer portal.
