Think twice before using NS...
In the past two weeks TechBlog.org has been receiving emails of people complaining about Network Solutions' (NS) questionable business ethics. On their site people can type a domain name to see if that domain is available or if it's taken. Today, when one of TechBlog.org's readers checked a domain for a client, Network Solutions' site said it was available, so he gave the news back to his client. Server power consumption actually doubled in just five years
Globally, average server power consumption doubled between the year 2000 and 2005. This is despite increasing environmental concerns. Overall, server power use is growing faster in the Asia Pacific region than anywhere else on the globe. Japan isn't part of that trend, however. As a whole, China, India and Indonesa are growing at a rather fast pace, fueling growth for the Asia Pacific region, which also includes Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries.
