Plesk's Parallels catalog reaches 100 SaaS applications
Web hosting automation software provider Parallels announces that service providers that use virtualization and automation software can now access more than one-hundred SaaS (Software as a Service) applications certified according to the Application Packaging Standard (APS). Overall, end-user customers can select from a range of SaaS solutions, which can be delivered by service providers and at a low cost. The APS Standard is a packaging format that enables service providers to easily deliver hosted applications developed by independent software vendors.

VeriSign greatly improves its root Internet server infrastructure
Yesterday, Internet root infrastructure services provider VeriSign said it has successfully completed some important and very critical operational enhancements to the Internet's basic root server infrastructure implementation. VeriSign operates both the "A" and "J" Internet root servers, two of the thirteen key domain name system servers that enable global Internet traffic to run smoothly and with some performance and network redundancy features.

DRT builds new data center for HSBC
On Friday, Data center operator Digital Realty Trust (DRT) said that it has begun building a customized data center facility for financial services institution HSBC. Located in suburban London, U.K., the new data center is being put together on a development site that was acquired by DRT in April of last year. The project is expected to be completed for November of this year.
