Microsoft releases test version of SQL Server 2005
Microsoft just released another test version of its upcoming
SQL Server 2005 database,
and introduces at the same time a free database management tool.
The company made the second "community technology preview" of SQL Server 2005
available on Friday. A third test version, which will be made more widely available
to customers, is expected early next year. A final version of the database is due
by the summer.

808,722 websites added to the Web in November
In
Netcraft's December 2004 survey,
they received responses from 56,923,737 sites. The gain of 808,722 new websites
continues the Internet's powerful growth as a medium for communications and
commerce, which has continued at near-record pace in 2004 despite a steady
drumbeat of security threats. Trends contributing to the expansion include the
growth of retail e-commerce and online banking, as well as lower prices for domain
names.
