Intel to offer FCoE support on its new server adapters
Intel said that it will offer Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) support on its family of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) server adapters. The company has developed an initiator that will be bundled with Intel 10 GbE server adapters for PCI Express to enable FCoE functionality. Intel also introduced the Intel 10 Gigabit AF DA Dual Port Server Adapter, a low-cost FCoE-capable copper adapter with an energy-efficient, low-profile design for 1U or 2U rack installations in data centers.

Network Solutions getting negative news, again!
One more time, domain registrar Network Solutions is in the news again with reports of more questionable business practices. It is reported that NetSol is using its customers' sub-domains to run ad-generating links, according to The Register (theregister.co.uk). Last week, Network Solutions customer, Win Betteridge, told TechCrunch (techcrunch.com) that NetSol uses the sub-domains of customers' websites for "parking" pages. He said he was suprised when he discovered that the sub-domains of his social gaming site, GotGame.com, resolved to ad-infested parking pages.

The Business Performance Management Forum, along with network storage company BlueArc announced today that they have released a new report that highlights problems as well as opportunities regarding green computing and green data centers. The research also shows methods in combating increased energy consumption, performance demands and overall waste in corporate data centers across the nation.

The .eu domains are gaining in popularity
Since 2006, industry observers have seen the registration of over 2.8 million new European Internet identities, with .eu domains ranking as the 4th most popular TLD (top level domain) in Europe. Additionally, it was reported that .eu domains ranked ninth globally. Viviane Reeding, E.U. High Commissioner for Information Society said that, "overall, the creation of a trustworthy environment with a distinct European identity is at the forefront of our vision for Europe’s inclusive Information Society."
